Dress Code 2026-2027
Ballet Classes: Warm-ups can be worn in ballet on cold days.
Girls: Black Leotard, Pink footed tights, pink ballet shoes (preferably split sole). No bras showing. (clean ballet look) *Hair in Bun*
***Optional: black ballet shorts or skirt
(No t-shirts, gym shorts or baggy clothes allowed. NO Jewelry!)
Ballet Level 2+ requirements:
Monday Classes: Black Leotard and Pink Tights ONLY
Thursday Classes: Colored leotard optional
Boys: Black tights, jazz pants or black shorts(no logo), black T-shirt, black ballet shoes
Jazz/Musical Theater Classes: Dedicated dance or activewear that you can freely move in. Avoid denim, skirts, and dresses.
Black or Tan Slip-on Jazz Shoe for Musical Theater class.
Jazz shoes or turners for Jazz class.
Contemporary/Modern/Lyrical Classes: Dancewear that you can move in – dance pants, leggings, sweats (of any kind) highly suggested.
Should have knee pads available in bag as needed.
Barefoot, dance socks (with grips), half sole or turners.
Tap Classes: Dedicated dance or activewear that you can freely move it. Avoid denim, skirts, and dresses. Flat Tap Shoes – ask Kat if you’d like shoe some recommendations based on your level!
Hip Hop Classes: Any appropriate dancewear (No short shorts
Knees must be covered), flexible white-soled, dedicated tennis shoe (do not wear in parking lot, tracks in dirt)
Tumbling Classes: Dancewear that is tight-fitted and flexible to move in. No shoes/socks, bare feet only. (No baggy clothes, denim, PE Shorts)
***For all class levels:
*Hair should be in a bun or ponytail. Long bangs should be pinned away from face. *No Jewelry should be worn in class*
*Students repeatedly disregarding dress code may be asked to sit out/class
*Please label shoes with student’s name or initials

Studio Policy & Rules 2026-2027
- Monthly fees are due on 1st of the month. A late fee of $15 will be assessed if payment is not received by the 15th of the month. Unpaid students may be dropped and replaced by a student on the waiting list.
(Monthly fees are calculated based on an annual figure and are a fixed amount regardless of holidays, extra weeks, absences, etc.)
- A charge of $30.00 will be assessed for all NSF checks.
- A charge of $5.00 will be assessed for each Credit Card Decline on an autopay
- There are no refunds for classes missed. It is the student’s responsibility to request a make-up class and is only allowed within the same month as the one missed. Please contact us if you are going to be absent.
- Classes are charged on the 1st of every month. In order to cancel, you must notify the studio in writing by the 25th of the prior month. Otherwise, you will be responsible for payment of the next month as we will have held the space for you.
- Parents need to come into the lobby area or be close outside to pick up their children. Students will not be allowed to leave without an adult outside. Please do not direct your children to go outside alone to look for you.
- Parents may watch classes through the viewing windows. If it becomes a distraction, instructors may close off the viewing.
- Starlight Dance Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- Only dance shoes are allowed on dance floors & do not wear dance shoes outside. No food or drink (only water) inside dance rooms. NO GUM, Put name on water bottle, or it will be tossed if left at the studio.
Students must pay for snacks at the time they take them.
Cell phones turned off inside dance rooms.
- Students need to follow established dress codes. Please ask instructor if you are unsure about attire. NO JEWELRY IN CLASS!
- Arrive to class on time! If you are late, wait outside the room until there is a break in the warmup or when you are invited in by the instructor.
Be respectful and courteous at all times. I have read the dress code and agree.
- I understand that due to allergies, the studio is a NUT FREE environment
Make Up Classes:
- Make up classes are available to students enrolled with a monthly tuition contract and only with an “Early Cancel” (desk notified or canceled online at least 24 hours before the missed class)
- Late/Same day cancellations DO NOT earn a make up class.
- “No shows” forfeit the visit and do not get a make up class.
- Make up class visits available for use on the student’s account expire if not scheduled within a month.
- Make up classes may not be used for the same class the dancer is enrolled in and may not substitute for tuition the following month.
