She was born and raised in the Coachella Valley. Her artistic journey began as a competitive figure skater, a discipline she pursued for over 10 years. At age 6, she added ballet to her repertoire, discovering a lifelong passion for dance. When her local training rink closed, she gracefully transitioned from skating to the stage, embracing a diverse range of styles including Jazz, Tap, Musical Theater, Ballroom, Swing, and Salsa. She went on to co-found several award-winning competitive Swing Dance teams, earning early accolades at the Palm Desert Choreography Festival and McCallum Theater’s Open Call.
After graduating from Palm Springs High School, she studied Business Management at College of the Desert, while balancing a full time role as an Executive Office Manager in the commercial electrical field, and building a thriving private dance practice focusing on event choreography & coordination, and high school theatrical productions.
Following a brief hiatus to marry her high school sweetheart, raise a family, and spend time in Utah, Kat returned to her desert roots—and to the dance floor. Now a proud homeschooling mother of two, she brings her passion and energy to every class.
