As a native to the Coachella Valley, Kat started her journey as a competitive figure skater for 10 years. Dance was a beautiful addition to her craft and begin ballet at the age of 5. When the original Palm Desert mall rink closed its doors, her heart sank, but her passion for the dance floor grew stronger. Over the years she trained in many other styles of dance including Jazz, Tap, Musical Theater, Ballroom, Swing & Salsa. She co-founded several competitive Swing Dance teams earning awards in the early days of the Palm Desert Choreography Festival and Open Call. After graduating from Palm Springs High School she immediately went to work while studying Business at College of the Desert. Along with a full time job as an Executive Office Manager with a local Commercial Electrical company, Kat was an independent Dance Instructor and Choreographer specializing in private dance instruction, special event coordination and High School Theatricals shows.
She took a brief hiatus from it all to get married to her high school sweetheart, start a family and experience life in Utah. Now she is a proud homeschooling mama of 2 and somehow found her way back to the desert and back to the dance floor. She is thrilled to be a part of Starlight Dance Studio as she embarks on her third season.
