Amber Wilcox grew up in Tampa, Florida where she began dancing at the age of three. She has had a passion for dance and teaching her whole life and started assisting dance classes when she was only seven. In the past 18 years, Amber has trained in various styles, such as ballet, jazz, acrobatics, lyrical, tap, hip hop, musical theater, contemporary, modern, and more. She was on the competition team with Brucie Klay’s Dance Center and Vibe Dance Center and participated in numerous dance competitions across Florida from 2011-2016. During that time, Amber has won 1st runner-up in Florida Dance Master’s annual Thanksgiving Convention in 2013, along with being a finalist for the following 2 years. She has also won multiple scholarships through Florida Dance Masters and Dance Makers Incorporated. In more recent events, Amber has been nominated for the Desert Theater League right here in the Coachella Valley for the past 4 years in a row. In 2018, she won for most Outstanding Supporting Female in a Ballet for Starlight’s production of The Nutcracker. Then again in 2019, where she won for most Outstanding Female Lead in a Ballet for Starlight’s production of Alice in Wonderland. Amber has been a teacher at Starlight Dance Center for 6 years now and is the Studio Manager. She is more than happy to be sharing her passion for dance for many years to come!
